If it’s not about rules and regulations (Colossians 2) what is it about? It’s about having died in Christ and finding our identity in him. Our life is hidden in Christ and when he appears we will appear with him in glory.
Many things in the Old Testament point toward Jesus. Now he has come and the basic, elemental things are no longer necessary. The symbol is not the thing.

We’re gonna finish Colossians 1 and get into chapter 2 with a look at what Paul does for the church and why he does it.
Part 2 of Colossians 1. This is perhaps my most favorite passage of scripture.
As we begin a series in Colossians, we start with a brief explanation of Paul’s letter writing ministry. Like being called to the principal’s office sometimes it’s bad news, sometimes good. Colossians is a good letter, written to people Paul commends for the work being done and wishes to encourage.
There are many men and women mentioned in Hebrews 11. Let’s focus on just one, Abram, and what makes his testimony remarkable.
Faith is more than belief, it is belief in action. Faith is the response to what we say we believe. Hebrews 11 offers a long list of those Old Testaments saints commended for their faith and their responses serve as inspiration and encouragement for New Testament believers.
God uses foolish things to confound the wisdom of this world and things that are weak to defeat the mighty.
The Lord God himself said he would shepherd his flock after rejecting the shepherds of Israel in Ezekiel 34. We see this promise ultimately fulfilled in the Lord Jesus when declares he is the Good Shepherd in John 10.
